We packed up the munchkin and headed to a friend's neighborhood pool this morning. She gets so excited when we tell her we are going to go swimming, but then once we get there she gets mad half the time. Don't get me wrong, she does have lots of fun too, but she gets so frustrated with everything.
She doesn't want us to hold her in 5' deep water. Then again she doesn't want to drown either. There's just no winning there. She wants to run as fast as she can around the edge of the pool and she gets mad at us when we tell her to slow down.
I love that the pool has a great walk-in area that is really shallow for quite a while before it gets deep. She loves walking around in this area, but then she starts going too deep, we save her from drowning and then she gets mad at us.
We tried putting her in the little floaty thing that our friends brought. It made her happy for a while, but then she yells "stuck!" and wants out.

Our friends had brought some animal crackers. She has never had them before, so this made her pretty happy and was actually a nice distraction for a while.

Other then a few mini tantrums, we actually had a great time. The weather was beautiful today.... so much nicer then being almost 100 degrees all the time.
Tonight I am heading out for my girl Anna's baby shower dinner. Ten of us girls are meeting up to have dinner and celebrate the arrival of Anna's second little baby boy.
